Brutal scratch testing

In Polaroid’s scratch tests, PTX4000 polarizing lenses go twenty rounds with a 500g ball of steel wool and a barrage of falling sand (in accordance with EN168:2001).

Haze gain, measured (in accordance with ASTM D 1003) by a Gardner Spectroguard II spectrophotometer is 50% less than with standard acrylic lenses.

In the pencil test (ASTM D3363) PTX4000 lenses resist scratching up to and including pencil H.
